ROUTES is an art/documentary film about an overland journey from Istanbul to Beijing. The aim of the film is to visually focus on the present of the Silk Road and on the traces of its recent political past.
The authors’ visual biography of the Silk Road is made through the stark observation of both ordinary and uncommon places, chosen along the journey, such as cemeteries, stations, borders, modern urban dwellings, roads and peripheral spaces.
